I've been wondering if it is possible to
get a command line in Windows 7. I'm not
yet purchased Windows 7. I want to be
sure I can get a command line prompt before
I do.
Here's a forum post that tells how to get a
command line prompt:

While I'm not absolutely sure, it seems
that the above command line prompt is
available regardless of which retail
version of Windows 7 you purchase. Here's

Again, I'm not sure. The above chart says
that only Windows 7 Professional allows
Windows XP mode. Is this required for a
command line prompt? Probably not.
Here's a program called Cygwin which I'm
particularly found of. Cygwin is dependent
on the command line to be useful Since
this site seems to be saying that Windows 7
works OK, it probably does.
